Beavercreek PreschoolOur Preschool Program
Our program is for children 2 1/2 years thru 3 – 4 years of age that are potty trained. At BCLC we realize that not every child learns the same way. We incorporate instruction with movement, song and hands on activity. The Preschool child benefits from the development of social skills vital in building strong character values. We foster creativity, independence, responsibility and caring for others in a safe, nurturing atmosphere. We encourage our students strengths, making them a valued part of their classroom and school. BCLC is rich in values of spiritual growth supported by daily devotion and weekly chapel. This balance of instruction and Christian values help prepare our students for long-term academic and social success.

Our Classrooms
Our max classroom ratio is 8 for children 2 1/2 years old and 12 for children 3 years old with 1 teacher. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each child as an individual and also meet and exceed the Ohio Common Core Standards mandated by the state. The educational experience provides a lasting value in the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual development of the child.

Our Teachers
Our teachers are professional educators, but they are also eager to help your child have a fun and positive start to their school life. Our staff meets all state requirements, and they are dedicated to the care and guidance of children through Christian standards and ideals. They teach in both group and individual settings to ensure that your child is developing the skills they will need for first grade and beyond.

My name is Stacy Becker and I have been at BCLC fro 2 years now. I initially started out downstairs teaching Pre-K, but this year I have moved upstairs and am now teaching our exceptionally amazing 2.5 year olds!  Honestly, teaching Pre-K was initially quite the challenge for me since I had previously taught the younger age for about 7 years.  But I grew to love their thirst for learning. so here I am again. I feel like I am rediscovering my style of teaching all over again.

In my classroom I fully believe in learning through play. We focus on our letters, numbers, colors, and shapes all while creatively playing throughout our room.  Whether it be a search for a certain letter throughout the room, or digging through our sensory bin in hunt of the letters of our alphabet, to using playdough and letters and spelling our names. Each activity promotes learning, but even better then that, it promotes laughter and fun!

Apart from BCLC I am a single mom to an amazing little 4 year old girl who also attend BCLC. And as if I don’t have an already fun filled day, I am in school full time working towards my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have wanted to be an educator since I was in the second grade. My second grade teacher made such an impression on my life and helped me make a vow that I would one day be that teacher to a child. My vow to my students is that they will always get the best I have to offer, and they will each know that in my class we share nothing but unconditional love.

This is my 15th year at BCLC. We are going to have a very exciting year with lots of fun things to do. We will count to 10 or higher, name some upper case letters, recognize, duplicate and extend simple patterns and my favorite thing to do is cooking projects and science experiments.

This is my 8th year at BCLC. We have a bright and exciting year ahead of us. We will be working on classroom etiquette, school rules, making and sharing with our new friends. We will also work on counting, upper case letters, understanding positional words and do cooking projects along with science experiments. I can’t wait to get started on our path of learning together.

I first discovered BCLC in 1999 when my daughter attended Pre-K here and I saw how wonderful the program is. I have been blessed to work here ever since. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Wright State University but feel that my experiences as a parent and God’s direction fueled my passion for teaching. Each week we will explore a new letter or theme with books, crafts, activities, music and games. I enjoy my Preschool students because I get to relive every day as “New” and “Amazing” through their eyes!
